Focus on Your Future Health for Free
The Annual Wellness Visit, sometimes called an “AWV,” is a yearly appointment with your primary care provider. The purpose of the Annual Wellness Visit is to create or update a personalized prevention plan that may help prevent illness based on your current health and risk factors. The Annual Wellness Visit is not a head-to-toe physical, and it’s not invasive.
Every Georgian over the age of 65 who is eligible for Medicare qualifies for a free Annual Wellness Visit. If you’re 65 or over, qualify for Medicare, and haven’t already had an Annual Wellness Visit in the last year, Original Medicare covers the cost of your Annual Wellness Visit. Medicare Advantage Plans cover Annual Wellness Visits without applying deductibles, copayments, or coinsurance when you see an in-network provider and meet Medicare’s eligibility requirements. During your AWV, your provider may discover a new or existing health problem. Any additional care is considered diagnostic and is billable.
Go Annual is a not-for-profit brand with the goal of encouraging more Georgians to take advantage of their free Annual Wellness Visit. We’re part of a partnership between the State of Georgia, academic institutions, community organizations, professional associations, and the State Aging and Disabilities Resource Connection Network. Go Annual is directly supported by the Georgia Memory Net. For more information, visit GoAnnualGA.com.
If you haven’t had your Annual Wellness Visit this year, Go Annual! Call your primary care provider’s office today and tell them you’re making an appointment for your Annual Wellness Visit.
